This Privacy Policy explains how The Gathering of Patriots (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, shares, and safeguards information through our website and online properties (the “Site”) and any forms, events, emails, or texting programs linked to this Policy.

  • You provide: name, email, phone, address, donation amounts, payment method details (processed by our payment processor), employer and occupation (when required for FEC reporting), volunteer preferences, and messages you send us.
  • Automatic data: IP address, device/browser details, pages viewed, referral URLs, session data, and cookies or similar tech (pixels, local storage).
  • Third-party sources: voter/contact files, commercially available databases, and analytics/advertising partners where permitted by law.

2) How We Use Information

  • Process donations, event registrations, petitions, and volunteer sign-ups.
  • Comply with campaign-finance laws and reporting (for example, collecting employer and occupation and publicly disclosing itemized donor info as required by the FEC).
  • Send emails/SMS, fundraise, and deliver ads.
  • Secure, debug, and improve the Site; prevent fraud and misuse.
  • Honor legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3) Campaign-Finance Disclosure

Federal law requires political committees to collect and publicly disclose certain donor information once contributions cross itemization thresholds. That includes name, mailing address, employer, and occupation. We must use “best efforts” to obtain missing data and report it. These disclosures are posted on public government websites and may be republished by third parties. (Translation: if you donate, your information may appear in public records.)

4) Who We Share With

  • Vendors/Service Providers: payment processors, email/SMS platforms, data/analytics providers, security and hosting providers — only to perform services for us.
  • Legal/Compliance: election authorities (e.g., the FEC) and other entities as required by law, subpoenas, or to protect rights and security.
  • Alliances/Coalitions: where permitted by law and consistent with our mission and any donor restrictions.
  • Successors: as part of an organizational transition or restructuring.
